Under the hood is the M20 2.5L inline 6-cylinder engine rated at 168 horsepower and 164 lb-ft of torque mated to a ZF 4-speed automatic transmission. Additional equipment includes 14″ bottle cap alloy wheels with new Nexen tires, power disc brakes, a 13-button on-board computer, air conditioning, cruise control, heated manually adjustable sport seats, power windows, power mirrors, and an AM/FM/Cassette stereo with power antenna.
An M-sport leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 150-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 64,956 miles which are documented as true mileage by multiple mileage increments recorded on the Carfax as well as an actual mileage title.
This 325i was sold new at Sears Imported Auto in Minnetonka, MN on 10/22/1988 to its first Wisconsin based owner who registered in Hudson, WI on 6/22/1989 and would move it to Florida to his vacation/winter home in Isle of Capri, FL shortly thereafter. He would then register it in Cape Coral, FL on 3/15/1994 with a reported 13,745 miles and then again in Naples, FL on 2/14/2001 with a reported 51,043 miles.
After 11 years in Florida the original owner would move it back to Wisconsin registering it in Merrimac, WI on 3/9/2005 before ultimately selling it after 22 years of ownership to its second owner who registered it in Indianapolis, IN on 10/12/2011 with a reported 57,500 miles. The second owner retained it for 7 months before selling it to its third owner who registered it in Greenwood, IN on 5/26/2012 with a reported 58,055 miles. Immediately after the third owners acquisition a documented service was performed including the belts, full fluids change, and replacing assorted gaskets and seals followed by periodic basic servicing as needed.
After 12 years of ownership, we acquired it from the third owner in April and in preparing it for resale we had a full battery of services performed totaling nearly $5,000 including the belts, water pump, a new aluminum radiator, new heater hoses, new Nexen tires, an alignment, full fluid service including oil and filter, brake fluid, and coolant, a valve adjustment was performed along with replacement of the gasket, and the brake lines were replaced as the originals were 35 years old. We then treated it to an in-house full paint correction and polishing to a mirrored finish.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire this fastidiously cared for 1989 BMW 325i that is turnkey and ready to enjoy complete with service records, a clean Carfax, and the original manuals, the original service booklet with service stamps, and both original keys.
