To be offered exclusively on Bring a Trailer

On offer is this 1983 Porsche 911SC Coupe beautifully finished in its original factory colors of Slate Blue Metallic over a Grey Beige leather interior complete with a 3.0L flat 6-cylinder engine with Bosch fuel injection rated at 172 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque mated to type 915 5-speed manual transmission. Per the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity its factory optional equipment consists of U.S. standard emissions, KPH and MPH speedometer, higher amperage battery, cruise control, sport shock absorbers, symbols for controls, alarm system, rectangular fog lights, heated and tinted windshield, electric sunroof, and Dunlop tires.

Per the stamped service booklet, it was sold new at Berlin Porsche and Audi in Charlottsville, VA on 7/15/1983 to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis from Gastonia, NC who retained it for approximately 8 years until 1991. They had it serviced by Parker-Allen-Snyder and Beck Porsche in Charlotte, NC as well as Das Porschaus in Indian Trail, NC during their ownership documenting mileage increments through 32,500 miles.

It was acquired by dealer Tony’s Foreign Car Center in Wilmington, NC and sold to its second owner, Dr. Ormand, on 2/22/1991 for $18,000 with 39,703 miles. Dr. Ormand would enjoy ownership of this 911 for 27 years in North Carolina having it maintained with an open checkbook. Regular maintenance and service intervals under Dr. Ormand’s 27 years of ownership from 1991 to 2018 are documented with dozens of service records on file. He most notably had the head studs done and the Carrera tensioners installed during a $7,000 major service in April 1993 at 55,944 miles completed at the dealer he purchased it from, Tony’s Foreign Car Center in Wilmington, NC.

Additional notable service visits include $3,500 combined over two services performed at Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, FL in December 1998 and February 1999 at ~70,500 miles, $5,000 in service performed in spring 2008, $10,000 in summer 2010, and $2,000 in fall of 2011 at Autoworks in Wilmington, NC between 85,000 – 90,000 miles, $3,000 in service performed in June 2017 at Porsche of Wilmington, NC at ~95,000 miles, and a $14,000 glass out repaint in January 2018 at Motioneering in Wilmington, NC.

Dr. Ormand would then sell this 911SC to its third owner on 2/9/2018 with ~95,000 miles who has registered it in Birmingham, MI since. Under current ownership since February 2018, nearly $7,500 has been invested including ~$3,000 in 2019 for an SSI stainless steel exhaust system including heat exchangers, which sounds incredible, as well as ~$4,100 at our preferred independent Porsche specialist Automotive Techniques in Novi, MI.

This comprehensive service included a full front to back inspection, new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, oil and filter change, brake fluid change, air filter, wheel balancing, alignment, left axle CV joint service, Turbo tie-rod update, front ball joints, and a leak down test that revealed very positive results of 4.0% in cylinder 1, 3.7% in cylinder 2, 3.8% in cylinder 3, 3.1% in cylinder 4, 4.2% in cylinder 5, and 3.8% in cylinder 6 for an average of 3.8%. Proven results that the motor is very health with a current mileage reading of ~97,300 miles which is a testament to its fastidious care.

It has been comprehensively cared for and serviced with over $83,000 accounted for throughout the more than 80 service records on file from 1983 to present.

The only modifications include the SSI exhaust, a MoMo prototipo steering wheel, and an upgraded audio system. Included with the sale are the original books and manuals, keys, service records, Porsche CoA, tool roll, steering wheel, and an uninstalled air conditioning compressor.

Don’t miss this incredible 3-owner 1983 911SC coupe in a beautiful color combination of Slate Blue Metallic over a Grey Beige leather with well documented ownership and service history since new with all of the important updates done including head studs, Carrera tensioners, and Turbo tie rods.
