Ford’s F-150 Raptor took the performance vehicle world by storm when it was released in 2010 as a high speed off-roader with a powerful 411hp V8 engine and a Fox suspension. The second generation released in 2017 turned up the volume with a new design, a Ford GT derived 450hp twin turbo V6, and an updated Fox suspension. The third generation released in 2021 with a new design as well as an optional 37″ tire package but the ultimate version was the R model with its Shelby GT500 derived 700hp 5.2L supercharged V8 engine.
This F-150 Raptor was built at Ford’s Dearborn, MI assembly in July and delivered in August. It is finished in Carbonized Gray Metallic over a black interior with leather and alcantara Recaro seats. The 2023 F-150 Raptor has a base price of $76,775 and this example is equipped with the 802A R package at $30,575, the moonroof and tailgate package at $2,195, and the tough spray in bedliner at $595 for a total MSRP of $111,845. Under the hood is the R-model’s 5.2L supercharged V8 rated at 700hp and 640 lb-ft of torque mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission with a dual range 4×4 system and a locking differential with a 4.10 final drive ratio.
Additional equipment includes 17″ beadlock-capable wheels mounted on 37″ x 12.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 Baja Champion tires, a long-travel suspension system featuring Fox live-valve shock absorbers and also utilizes a Terrain Management system with Trail Control, heated and ventilated Recaro front seats, heated rear seats, a Terrain management system, a 360-degree camera, SYNC 4 infotainment with a 12″ touchscreen, and an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, carbon-fiber trim accents the door panels, dashboard, and center console, 4G Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless charging pad, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a folding interior work surface.
Raptor R variants differed from the standard Raptor with distinctive badging, a vented hood, and Code Orange front tow hooks. It also features black wheel arch flares, a Raptor-specific front bumper, automatic LED headlamps, Rigid LED fog lights, a receiver hitch, and tough coated cast-aluminum running boards.
